We are looking to find our future Racing Grooms and Riders for the horseracing industry. If you are coming to the end of your Equine College Course or graduated recently from an Equine College and are looking to secure a job in a racing yard, this Programme could be what you are looking for. This Programme will:

  • Develop your riding skills and give you confidence to ride racehorses
  • Start your career in horseracing
  • Offer expert tuition by a qualified Racing Instructor
  • Find employment with a racehorse trainer on successful completion of the initial 7 week training course.

We are working with the British Racing School to offer a 7 week residential training Programme starting on 27th June 2022. You must be finishing your Equine College Course in 2022 and be able to start employment in the racing industry at the end of the 7 week training Programme. You must be physically fit. You can watch the fitness test to see what will be involved before you take part. This training is free and accommodation and meals for the duration of the 7 week Programme will be charged at £50 per week, per student.  Bursaries are available on request. Successful applicants will be invited to attend an Interview towards the end of May at the British Racing School in Newmarket where you will have a physical fitness test and a short interview. If you would like more information on this Programme please contact Michelle Douglas, Careers Marketing and Recruitment Advisor at the BHA on 020 7152 0020 or to apply, please complete the on-line Application Form. Please note that we are only able to accept applications that have come via the on-line application form. View the Privacy Notice for the Equine Student Progression Programme.
