As the Social Media & Content Manger, you will plan and oversee the social media content strategy across Ascot’s channels on a daily basis, ensuring all content is accurate, engaging, and adheres to the Ascot tone of voice. Working alongside the digital content agency, marketing team and across the business, the Social Media Manager will oversee agency work and deliver on internal objectives.  You will also manage and oversee the development of content across all marketing channels to provide our customers with the right content at the right time.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and oversee the content strategy across Ascot’s social media channels on a daily basis
  • Be the first point of contact and manage the day-to-day relationship with the digital content agency to ensure high-quality output and overall delivery against key performance indicators
  • Ensure that all content is accurate, engaging, drives the desired outcomes and adheres to the Ascot tone of voice
  • Support the Senior Digital Marketing Manager in achieving overall marketing and audience growth objectives
  • Work alongside the Marketing Team to produce content that helps meet often fast-changing commercial objectives
  • Create and commission social media content both internally and through external agencies
  • Work alongside the Digital Producer to create and commission high quality video content
  • Monitor the growth of Ascot’s social media audiences
  • Form a key part of the raceday content production team, managing content output across all channels
  • Manage social media reporting and track post performance on an ongoing basis and contribute to the teams’ overall reporting duties
  • Build relationships and engage with relevant stakeholders in the racing community and at Ascot
  • Work across the business to maximise exposure of relevant business units (sponsorship, marketing, racing, community, conferences and events)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a similar social media/content role
  • Highly proficient managing Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube channels
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro CC (Desired)
  • Experience using website CMS systems (Desired)
  • A keen interest in and strong knowledge of sport in general, and horse racing ideally
  • Working knowledge of the horse racing industry desirable
