About the role:

Are you an avid racing enthusiast looking to pursue a career in the industry, we have an exciting opportunity for a junior product owner working on our fantasy racing product.

As Junior Product Owner you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of a key new product differentiator with exponential growth potential. Reporting into the Head of Product and with the support of the wider product team you will work closely with stakeholders and cross functional teams to support the development of the fantasy racing product. You will judge and challenge functional requirements with your peers on fit with our product strategy and the target market.

Who we are:

We are proud stewards of the Tote, Great Britain’s pool betting operator since 1928. Backed by people from across British horse racing, UK Tote Group is led by a dedicated group of racehorse owners and breeders and racing fans who are passionate about revitalising the Tote.

Using best-in-class technology, digital innovation, and customer engagement, we are developing the UK Tote into a modern British success story: a world-leading pools platform, reaching new audiences with innovative products.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the development of the product roadmap for the fantasy racing proposition across web and native applications
  • Work with the Head of Product and key stakeholders to understand business drivers and help develop the product strategy and overall product roadmap
  • Research, define, recommend, and implement digital specific innovation across the customer experience
  • Develop strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure continuous communication of solutions, delivery status and benefits

What you’ll need:

  • A strong understanding of racing customers and their needs, wants and expectations or a natural interest in fantasy sports and its landscape and customer behaviour
  • Experience or understanding of sports betting, specifically pool betting, on a personal or professional level
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer/business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at various levels
  • Specific product function experience not essential but a strong desire to learn and ambition to own the fantasy racing product as subject matter expert is a prerequisite

What we offer:

At the Tote you can expect a friendly working environment with a strong sense of teamwork and pride in what we do. Our company benefits package includes:

  • Bonus scheme
  • Company Shares Option Plan
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Life insurance (4 x basic salary)
  • Simply Health Plan
  • Holiday entitlement (25 days plus bank holidays)
  • Confidential 24/7 365 employee assistance helpline
  • Agile and collaborative office environment with free parking, fruit, biscuits, and drinks
  • Regular social events, charity events and volunteering opportunities
