We are seeking Trainee Camera Operators to work on live sports outside broadcasts at racecourses in the North, Midlands and South.  

You will be trained to operate race coverage cameras and in our OB operations including the safe rigging, operation and de-rigging of cameras along with hoist vehicles and other OB equipment. The role will also include a variety of general OB tasks to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of all technical services to our racecourse and broadcast partners. Candidates with the right approach can also learn other skills e.g. presentation cameras, photofinish, and public address.

With a good level of education in media/broadcast or similar, you must be physically fit, comfortable working at heights, in isolation and exposed to the elements, with strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and be part of a team. Knowledge of live sports broadcasting is desirable as is any experience with cameras, lenses or photography, with ideally a keen interest or knowledge of horse racing; a willingness to learn and develop is key. You must also be prepared to travel and to regularly work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. A driving licence is essential and we will also offer HGV driver training.

We have vacancies at these operational bases: Newcastle in the North; Leicester in the Midlands; and Raynes Park, Lingfield or Chelmsford in the South. You will be expected to reside within a 30-minute drive of your chosen base.
