Stud Hand / Vet Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with high standards and good attention to detail to join a small enthusiastic team dedicated to top class equine reproduction.

Our purpose built stud is well equipped with a wide range of facilities including multiple examination stocks, stallion collection area, semen & embryo processing lab as well as the horse stabling and turnout facilities.

We are based in beautiful Westonbirt, just outside of Tetbury, with good transport links to Bristol, London and M4.

You will be working closely with the Stud Manager and Reproduction Vets in all aspects of stud and veterinary work including all general yard work, assisting with scanning mares (seasonal), sterilising equipment (seasonal), stallion handling, semen collecting, processing & freezing (seasonal), stock control, biosecurity, foaling/on call rota, and keeping accurate horse and stock records. This is a varied and interesting position for someone who has a keen initiative and an interest in mare & stallion stud work, veterinary care of horses, and lab work. Career progression possible within the team.
Ability to drive a 7.5t lorry would be a bonus.

Full time position including weekends.

Training can be provided where necessary. Salary dependent on experience and can be discussed at interview.
