Overview
Highclere Stud, one of Europe’s leading stud farms is looking for an experienced and dependable Chief Operations Officer to work with the principal. Highclere Stud is one of the most established organisations in its sector and its business operates in various departments under the Highclere Stud umbrella. These include a successful breeding enterprise involving high class stallions and broodmares, an international bloodstock agency representing several of the industry’s foremost owners as well as a newly established consultancy service advising international industry leading companies on their business developments.
Position Summary
- Overseeing the daily business and administrative operations of Highclere Stud and improving
operating procedures for optimal efficiency. - Assessing and enhancing the efficiency of internal and external operational processes.
- Evaluating company performance and recommend strategies to improve results across the various
business avenues. - Collaborating with the principal, senior management and advisory board to raise capital and carry out other business-expanding strategies.
- Overseeing relationships with suppliers and ensure client communications are efficient.
- Overseeing the recruitment process to attract the best candidates and reduce employee turnover.
- Mentoring and inspiring employees to key into the vision of management.
- Establishing policies that improve and promote company vision and culture.
Key Attributes
- Fully qualified accountant (or equivalent).
- Significant operational experience with a track record of success in a comparable organisation.
- Understanding of and aptitude for commercial and strategic decision-making.
- .Knowledge of and/or interest in the racing and thoroughbred worlds.
- Natural leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
