The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is the governing and regulatory body for horseracing in Great Britain. It is the BHA’s role to act for and on behalf of the whole sport, with a key objective being to ensure the highest standards apply on and away from the racecourse.

The BHA is looking to recruit a Head of Insight, Data & Analytics, a new role that will be responsible for defining and managing a data insight strategy for the BHA that inspires and informs change and continuous improvement within the BHA and the racing industry.

Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Change, the role will be responsible for creating, developing and leading a team of data and insight specialists responsible for delivering reliable, high-quality insight and analysis to support strategy, decision making and planning for the BHA and the racing industry.

To be successful in this role, you will be a visible leader who has previous experience of setting data and insights strategy to inform decision making and longer-term strategic thinking, ideally having previously worked in a complex, multistakeholder environment. You will have previous experience of running analysis and insight teams that have created demonstrable change through the use of insight and data driven outputs.

We are looking for an exceptional communicator who is able to make the complex simple and demystify data and analytics. You will have the proven ability to influence and build effective and collaborative relationships with industry stakeholders at all levels. Using your significant technical expertise, you will be comfortable designing and implementing clear and engaging analysis and reporting that makes data and insight more accessible to the wider business and industry.
