EVENTS AND FACILITIES SUPERVISOR

York Racecourse, one of the world’s leading flat racecourses, will host 18 days of racing in 2023 (welcoming c. 350,000 racegoers) in addition to a diverse range of non-racing and specialist events including: food festivals, arts and antiques fairs, shows, exhibitions and more. This progressive, independent racecourse seeks to deliver the best in facilities and experience across an estate including: modern sporting stands, Listed buildings and a diverse range of buildings services and infrastructure.

We now seek an enthusiastic individual to join our award-winning team as a full-time Events and Facilities Supervisor, the successful candidate will be supported by a team of Facilities Technicians and will report into the Facilities Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to become a key part of our dynamic and hard-working Facilities team, working within a customer-focussed environment to take the lead on co-ordination of all non-raceday events. Ensuring each event runs safely, smoothly and effectively, you will oversee all non-raceday events from start to finish, including: preparing events plans, holding planning meetings, liaising with both internal and external parties, overseeing set-up and take-down of events, staffing, events safety, compliance, security, traffic management, and all other elements critical to a successful event. This varied role will also assist the Facilities Manager to plan and document all operational maintenance tasks and cleaning activities across the estate.

To be successful you will need prior experience in events planning or facilities coordination, preferably within a comparable venue. You will need to be highly organised with excellent management and IT skills. Great interpersonal and customer service skills will also be essential, combined with a positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to be hands-on as part of our busy team.  As an events and facilities role, flexibility is required for evening and/or weekend work (time of in lieu will be granted in respect of this).
