Responsibilities

• To be fully aware of budgeted and actual department targets. This is to include sales, covers, average spends and departmental profits.
• To assist and update forecasts for your department where required.
• To assist in controlling payroll costs by monitoring rotas and ensuring they are in line with forecasted business levels.
• To maximise opportunities for departmental sales and other related targets.
• To assist in the control departmental costs through careful monitoring and stocktaking (where necessary) and through promoting environmentally efficient practices.
• To suggest new promotional opportunities to enable departmental sales to meet and exceed budgets. This is to include assisting with planning, implementation and financial review of promotions.
• About the role:
• The Hotel Accountant will complete all transactional work for the Hilton Hotel at Doncaster Racecourse. Helping to set budgets and assisting in the process of forecasting -hotel, sales, costs and profitability as well as ensuring appropriate internal controls.
• You will also assist the Financial Controller to implement procedures and SOP’s into the business and review these processes to ensure compliance and consistency. They will also control any cash requirements for the hotel if required.

The person we are looking for as a Hotel Accountant has…..

• Previous experience within hotel finance is an advantage
• Previous experience with ERP systems (Exchequer) an advantage
• To have a flexible approach to working
• Team player
• Good communication skills
