Finance Manager – Wetherby Racecourse

International Racecourse Management ltd (IRM) are looking for a talented Finance Manager, based at Wetherby racecourse LS22 5EJ

Wetherby racecourse is predominantly a National Hunt track currently racing between the months of October and June with a strong conferencing and events presence.

The role

In the first instant, you will take full ownership of the finances of Wetherby Steeplechase Committee Ltd working directly with the management team.

Main duties of the role include but not limited to:

  • Produce and process sales, purchase invoices, general ledger journals, for depreciation, amortisation, accruals, prepayments, expenses. Management of all payment runs. Produce monthly and weekly payrolls, pension submissions and HMRC PAYE obligations. Produce and reconcile quarterly VAT Returns. Assisting in the management of the business cashflow. Assist in the completion and reconcile month end reports, including P+L and Balance sheet reporting and banking. Support the annual audit process, assist in producing statutory information to be audited with the supporting documentation. Own and drive the finance tasks, to ensure monthly record keeping and processes are completed in a timely manner. Produce data for the budget process. Raceday reporting, control checks. Raceday staff management. A wide variety of ad hoc projects.

Secondly, the wider remit of the role is to

  • Assist in the financial reporting for all the racecourses within the group. Assist in budget and forecast preparation for the 4 racecourses. Various analysis work as required. Travel between the racecourses will be expected.

What you will bring

ACCA /CIMA newly qualified or finalist.

Excellent numeracy skills.

Advanced Excel including Pivot Tables, Lookups and formulas.

Knowledge of Sage 50 accounts and Sage payroll would be preferred.

Methodical, accurate and able to meet deadlines.

Able to communicate at all levels of the business.

Able to work within a fast-paced environment.

An interest in horseracing would be beneficial.

There will be occasions when weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will be required.
