The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is the governing and regulatory body for British Horseracing, responsible for the continuing integrity, health and successful development of the sport. Our vision is to build a brighter future for our sport, our horses and our people.

An exciting opportunity has become available in this unique organisation for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to develop their career within finance and work towards achieving a recognised finance or payroll qualification. We are looking for a bright, ambitious individual to join the Finance team to provide financial and administrative support across abroad range of activities delivering effective, efficient and accurate financial information.   

The successful candidate will have good organisational skills with a proven ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure. 

As a key member of a Finance team of five, your responsibilities will include providing exemplary payroll administration, meticulously maintaining, updating and reconciling records across payroll and finance systems, including the accurate input of supplier invoices onto the purchase ledger system, raising and chasing sales invoices for both the BHA and its racing charities. This is a varied role requiring strong analytical skills to be able to quickly recognise the links between data sources and act accordingly. 

You will have faultless attention to detail and a logical and inquisitive mind with the ability to work in a team environment. You will work closely with the Financial Accountant to provide detailed analysis of a wide range of financial information giving you experience of all aspects of finance and an opportunity to develop.

The successful candidate will have an interest in finance and preferably be interested in working towards a recognised accounting or payroll qualification. A proficient user of Excel and experience of finance and payroll systems would be an advantage.
