We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team at Redcar Racecourse as an Accounts and Administration person.
The full time position is based at Redcar Racecourse (TS10 2BY) which is managed by International Racecourse Management (IRM)
Reporting in the first instance to the Racecourse General Manager and working under the supervision of IRM’s Financial Manager, the individual ideally should have a working knowledge of Sage 50 accounts, Sage payroll and Microsoft Office packages.
The role consists of but is not limited to:
- Posting of supplier invoices, BACS payments, bank and other balance sheet reconciliations, generation of sales invoices, credit control, ad-hoc analysis work, race meeting reporting, monthly and weekly payroll, management of the Nest pension scheme, assisting with budgets, management accounts and forecasts.
- Race day — attendance reporting, float ordering, cash control and reconciliation.
- Answering telephone and email enquiries, ticket and hospitality sales
- General administration work
Redcar Racecourse operates with a small team, so you will be expected to “roll up your sleeves” especially on race days. Redcar Racecourse currently stages 18 race meetings between April and November.
The work hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with some flexibility for the right person. You'll be expected to work at all race meetings at the racecourse, which will include some bank holidays, evenings and weekends. Time will be given off in lieu of working weekends and Bank Holidays
The individual should be able:
- To work independently to achieve deadlines.
- Good Excel and knowledge of other Office packages.
- To have the ability to organise and execute their own workload.
- To have good communication skills specifically with customers and co-workers.
- An interest in horseracing would be helpful, but not essential
