The British Racing School provides training for those wishing to work (or already working) in the racing industry, this training is delivered by an experienced team of Instructors. To help support their work, a Head Person is required to coordinate the exercise and care of circa 75 ex-racehorses on site. This will include sourcing new horses for the school and finding homes for those who are no longer suitable, as well as liaising with the vets and farriers.

The successful candidate will be an experienced manager in the horseracing industry, used to making decisions, with a very high standard of horse care. A rider will be welcomed but it’s not an essential requirement of the role. Very early starts are not required, a 7.30am start time is anticipated you will ordinarily work Mon to Friday and just one weekend in four.

While the role does not require any delivery of instruction to young people, an understanding of the needs of the learners and the school environment in which you will be working is essential.
