Senior Foreperson/ Yard Manager

Matthew C. Smith Racing at Warwick Farm, Sydney is looking for an experienced Senior Foreperson to join our team.

We require an enthusiastic and well organised team leader to manage a busy Group-1 winning stable.

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience within the racing industry as a foreman highly desired
• Proven management experience
• Excellent horsemanship skills and a firm understanding of racehorses in training
• Excellent communication & time management skills
• Highly reliable
• Extensive knowledge of horse care (medications, bandaging, checking legs etc)

Responsibilities include:

• Liaising directly with Matthew and overseeing the daily running and organisation of the stable
• Monitoring horses for soundness, injury or illness
• Ensuring the horse's well being
• Assisting with veterinary treatments
• Directing staff and updating rosters
• Running stalls at morning trackwork
• Operating the treadmill (training available)

This is a full-time position, working on a 2 week roster

Attractive salary available for the successful candidate. Renumeration will be commensurate with experience and skills.
