Racing Welfare is a national charity supporting all those working in and retired from the British horseracing and the breeding industry. We are currently looking to appoint a part-time Operations Manager to effectively and efficiently oversee operational functions of the Charity.

We have four offices across the country situated in the main racing centres, with our Head Office in Newmarket. This important role will manage day-to-day operational aspects of the charity and all offices including IT, health and safety, data protection and staff training.

Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director, the successful candidate will:

•Establish, embed, monitor and improve operational processes and procedures

•Be point of contact for suppliers essential to the Charity’s operations

•Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure compliance and consistency across the Charity

•Assist the FD and COO with Governance and HR matters, including staff and Trustee recruitment and development

•Provide support to the FD and COO in ensuring the Charity is fully compliant with its data protection obligations

•Line manage the Operations Administrator

You will be offered a competitive salary, employer pension scheme, 25 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus bank holidays, tickets to almost all race meetings at Jockey Club racecourses, twice-yearly all-staff training and team building events along with a range of other employee wellbeing initiatives.

As a charity, wellbeing is at the forefront of all we do. We aim to be a leading employer in the industry and make sure everyone at Racing Welfare has the opportunity to thrive.

This is a part-time role with 25 hours worked over four or five days. You will be based in our office in Newmarket and may be required to travel infrequently within the UK so it is essential that the successful candidate holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle.

We welcome enquiries from everyone and value diversity in our workforce. The closing date for this role is Monday 26th February 2024. Interviews will be held in Newmarket on Tuesday 5th March 2024. We reserve the right to bring forward the closing date if we receive a large number of suitable applications.

Salary: £35,000 FTE (£25,000 pro-rata)
