About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Event Manager to join our established Newmarket Operations team in the planning, organisation, and presentation of all racedays and events. Events range from small meetings to large exhibitions and include conferences, dinners, private parties, and fairs. This is an ideal entry level role for someone looking to begin a career in events.

The Event Manager will

• Communicate effectively with clients, site operational teams and subcontractors to plan and execute events to the highest standards.

• Be customers point of contact after booking, ensuring client has the best experience, ordering and delivering any additional extras.

• Deliver events as a Duty Manager ensuring the running of events safely and efficiently with the site presented to the best possible standard.

• Ensure all costs are effectively managed, create purchase orders and raise final invoices certifying figures.

• Provide technical and logical site information to clients and suppliers on venue, including layout plan and site visits.

• Communicate effectively with the wider operations team and catering team to ensure function rooms are set to the client’s needs including A.V. and catering stations.

• Support the delivery of stewarding schedules for the race day casuals communicating with the team ahead of racing and on the day.

• Ensure all necessary paperwork on race day and ticket scanning equipment is ready for use.

• Play an active role in all Health & Safety requirements, including communication of issues with colleagues, customers, and general management of safety management systems.

• Co-ordinate with suppliers from set up to breakdown, handling queries, troubleshooting, and delivering on-site orientation.

About you

• Passionate about building a career in the events/sports Industry.

• Confident communicator who feels comfortable interacting with a varied range of stakeholders

• Excited by the prospect of working in a fast paced, pressured commercial environment.

• Proactive approach to work with appetite for learning and taking responsibility.

• Technically savvy comfortable using Microsoft Office suite.

• Highly organised with an outstanding attention to detail

• Requirements to work evenings and weekends to support racing and events.
