Weyhill International Horse Transport Ltd has been transporting horses for over fifty-five years. Working across the thoroughbred and non-thoroughbred world (racing, breeding, polo, competition and leisure) overwhelmingly with businesses but also individual owners, we offer a professional and completely bespoke solution for any horse to any destination worldwide.
We have an exciting new opportunity for the right person to join our team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely alongside our Operations Team, you will be responsible for data administration which is essential to the work we do. This is a business-critical position offering the opportunity to become a key part of a small, busy company in a fascinating sector.
Key arrangements:
- Starting pay £14 per hour, rising to £15 per hour once fully trained (9 month review)
- Part-time hours - 3 or 4 hours per day Monday to Friday (18-20 hours total), with flexibility to mutually agree the exact hours of work
- Office-based (Quarley, near Andover)
Your role will include:
- Administration of multiple foreign & domestic customs paperwork and DEFRA documents, including generation, processing, cross-referencing, distribution, and filing
- Providing additional administration support to the Ops Team and the wider business
- Managing information in databases and online portals, making sure data is accurate and up-to-date
- Providing excellent customer service to our clients by telephone and email
You will need:
- Excellent attention to detail
- To be a quick learner, with the ability to absorb rules and processes related to foreign and domestic customs and animal health, all of which can be complex
- To be naturally organised, with excellent time-management
- Great IT skills (knowledge of MS Excel & Access as well as Adobe Writer would be an advantage)
- To be a clear concise communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, happy to work as part of a small team or alone on occasion
- Discretion, as maintaining client confidentiality is vital
Though not essential, if you do have an interest in the thoroughbred world this is an excellent role in which to deepen and expand your knowledge.
