TASKS

• Riding horses (main responsibility of the position)
• Assisting with the maintenance of boxes and stables
• Ensuring the upkeep and proper functioning of equipment
• Preparing horses for races
• Providing daily care for horses according to the program set by the trainer
• Training and exercising horses daily under the trainer's supervision
• Maintaining bedding, grooming, and care for the horses under their responsibility
• Ensuring the heart rate monitor is correctly placed before each session by syncing the monitor with the horse's chip
• Accompanying and/or transporting horses to races

SKILLS

• Knowledge of horses
• Observant to detect any change in the animal's behavior and immediately report it to the manager and/or trainer
• Good understanding of equine anatomy to detect any issues and provide first aid
• Able to handle young horses, moving them to the paddock or ring while the boxes are cleaned
• Teamwork skills
