Yearling Stud Hand Full time | Blue Diamond Stud Farm

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to join a leading stud farm, with state-of-the-art facilities and high-class bloodstock.  This successful applicant will have previously worked on a thoroughbred stud and be well versed in the day-to-day care of young horses.  You will be based at our North site working with weanlings, yearlings and horses out of training for rehab purposes.  This role will include days at the sales.

We are offering an attractive remuneration package for the right candidate.

Skills:

• Experience handling young stock is required
• Experience working at the sales would be an advantage
• Horsebox driving experience preferred but not essential
• An understanding of the thoroughbred and breeding industry is a benefit

Daily duties include (but not limited to):

• Horse handling, leading and grooming
• Sales/training preparation
• Routine daily checks of the horses on the farm
• Mucking out
• Assisting with the Vet or Farrier as required
• Some flexibility around days at the sales is essential
