About the role:
The role of the Accounts Assistant is to take ownership of the Accounts Payable function for the Group finance Team.
The Accounts Assistant will support the Group Finance team by efficiently running the accounts payable function as well as assisting in ad hoc finance tasks.
Key responsibilities for the role will include:
- Running the accounts payable function for the head office entities. Raising purchase invoices, matching invoices received to purchase orders raised and allocating payments against invoices.
- Prepare payment run files for review by the Assistant Management Accountant.
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier accounts to supplier statements.
- Be the key point of contact for all supplier queries.
- Prepare monthly group creditors report for review by the Group Financial Accountant.
- Assist with answering audit queries where required.
- Actively support in improving and finding efficiencies of process and systems.
- Provide support to the Group Financial Accountant and other functions within the wider Group Finance team.
About you:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Studying ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent is beneficial
- Take initiative and the ability to work independently
- Team player with pronounced numerical affinity and accuracy
- Previous experience with ERP systems (Exchequer) an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication
