Second Travelling Head Person / Travelling Groom

Richard Hughes is looking to recruit a second Travelling Head Person to join his top quality team. 

Job Description

• Travelling horses to the races and sales Applicants should be competent and confident saddling horses and overseeing all aspects of their care at the racecourse Full liaison with owners at the races in the absence of the trainer Liaising with the Trainer remotely, if not in attendance at the races Opportunities to travel abroad with overseas runners at times Assisting in the organisation and maintenance the racing tack room (colours, tack, staff, clothing etc) Maintenance of horseboxes eg. Cleaning after racing and reporting any faults to the office Riding out and general yard duties when not racing.

Requirements

• Applicants should have a full, clean driving license and be confident driving a two horse (3.5T) horsebox. Applicants should be experienced and confident in travelling horses, well organised and able to work as part of a team.
